Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and former instructor of the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell is host of the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as the host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Cook will show you how to master easy techniques as well as her distinctive spiky blond tresses. Chef Burrell is also a part of several of the most prestigious restaurants within New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy as well as competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell developed a passion for food and cooking at very young. She pursued her love of food and restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America has been a fantastic learning experience for me. It was hard to study about, practice or do all the things I did. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) as she attended in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. The chef gained an understanding of Italian tradition and food throughout her time in Italy that has informed her cooking style. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists children who are struggling. In her capacity as a speaker, Burrell goes on a tour across the United States to speak about her passion for food as well as her career in the culinary field. Through the course of her cooking career, Anne often says that she feels so lucky to be able to share my passion within my life with other people.
