Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright, born 17 February 1991, is an English actress. She also works as a director, model activist and actress. She is most famous for her role as Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter film series.Born in London, Wright made her professional acting debut in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001), portraying the role for ten years, until the last film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 (2011). Wright appeared in several independent films following the series. The films received mixed reviews. Wright made her stage debut as the lead actress in Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse in 2013.Wright graduated from University of the Arts London in 2012 with an undergraduate diploma in filmmaking. The following year, she founded her own production firm, BonBonLumiere, and began making short films. She directed her debut film called the coming-of-age thriller Separate We Come and Separate We Go (2012). It was released at Cannes Film Festival to great public acclaim. She also directed Know Thyself (2016) starring Christian Coulson and Sextant (2016). Both films focused on emotional and natural landscapes as their themes. Wright's three-part series, Phone Calls, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2017. Medusa's Ankles (2018) with Kerry Fox and Jason Isaacs was released by Wright. It is based upon A. S. Byatt's The Matisse Stories. She has also directed music videos for Scarlett Johansson and Pete Yorn. Wright is an ambassador for Greenpeace and Lumos, and has been recognized for her environmental advocacy.
