Her parents relocated to Dallas soon after she was born. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Performing and Visual Arts, located within the Arts District. She later earned the BFA diploma from Stephens College in acting and further studied at the British American Drama Academy. Additionally, she spent six years with the renowned Dallas Theatre Center and one year at the theater's Encore Company. She started her acting career in the theater before her screen debut. Her theatrical credits include "As You Like It" The "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" and the "Measure for Measure", the "Baby" and the "Chicago" productions, as well as others. Her most memorable appearance was in Michael Cristofer's HBO television series Gia (1998) featuring Angelina Jolie. She made her name famous for both the public and critics. Her charismatic acting talents was evident in the sci-fi action film Frequency (2000) which with Dennis Quaid and Neil LaBute. Elizabeth Mitchell has many credits in television shows, theaters and films. She continues to be a great actor. Her nose was smashed during filming of the movie Frequency (2000). In 1991, she graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, Visual and Performing Arts located in the Arts District of Dallas. Graduated from Stephens College in 1991 with the Fine Arts Degree. The last part of 2001 was spent as Cyd as a character who was played by Ioan Gruffudd. The show aired in the month of March on BBC 1 TV.
