Pollyanna McIntosh

Pollyanna McIntosh was born in Portugal and Colombia before returning to her native Scotland and where she initially started performing on stage, at The Edinburgh Festival. After 16 she relocated to London where she got involved in indie filmmaking. (Her first gig as a paid actor on The Acid House was as a stoner in the film Irvine Welsh (1998)). She has also participated in theater, both as an actor and a director. In 2004, she moved to Los Angeles in 2004 brought on more theatre and productions, including "The Woolgatherer", in which she directed Anne Dudek (a regular on Mad Men (2007)/Big Love (2006)) as well as David Dayan Fisher (a regular on 24 (2001)/NCIS (2003)) to amazing reviews. Her next project was her first US film role, playing the manipulative, born-again Christian, "Stacy", in Headspace (2005). Her first movie role was in Headspace (2005) as the manipulative, born-again Christian "Thumper Wint". This comedy was written by Heathers (1988). She was a part of both LA as well as London, Exam (2009) was her next project, nominated by BAFTA for Outstanding British Debut and winner of Best Independent at the Santa Barbara Film Fest, the reviewers noted that Pollyanna's performance was "smart, sassy and sexy at the same time. ....the emotional heart of the movie" The film's critics praised her ability to uncover the "emotional vulnerability" of her supposedly powerful and tough character. GQ has stated that "stunning Pollyanna McIntosh is an extraordinarily skilled actress". Como Quien No Quiere La Cosa (2013) (As if you Don't Like it! ), is a hilarious South American farce in which she plays Brit actor Trevor Lock's disgruntled wife. She speaks Spanish throughout the film which was made in Peru. John Landis directed Burke and Hare (2010). She portrays Isla Fisher's bestie with Andy Serkis and Jessica Hynes, Tom Wilkinson, Tim Curry and Tom Wilkinson. Lucky McKee's The Woman (2011) was an absolute success. It received rave reviews and also topped the New York Times readers' favorite movies poll. In recognition of her performance, she was given three Best Actress awards, including Total Film's Frightfest Award and Fright Meter's.
