Emily Irene VanCamp, who originally wanted to be a professional dancer, grew attracted to acting after visiting her sister Katie on The Ladies Room set. As she took acting classes as well, she also got part-time roles in Canadian television programs. Some of the shows that she had appeared in, besides other shows included: Are You Afraid of the Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp's career took off after he was cast as Sam Dolan, a regular on WB Horror Mystery Glory Days. Though receiving positive reviews this show's poor ratings unfortunately caused it to be canceled after only nine episodes. In fact the May 12 1986-born actress quickly secured a second position in Everwood as one of its principal actors Amy Abbott. This role led to her being nominated for a Young Artist Award nominee and for four Teen Choice Awards.
